How To Wash Your Cash Using A Pressure Washer

Posted on: 11 March 2015

Cleaning your car is a great way to keep the vehicle in pristine condition and get rid of dirt and grime that builds up from the elements. Over time, the dirt and grime can have a negative impact on the car and it can eventually deteriorate the paint or potentially cause rust to start forming on the body. Here is a step-by-step list of instructions on how to clean your car using a pressure washer.

For the following job you will need:

One pressure washer

Access to water supply and a garden hose

A sponge

Car cleaning product

A bottle of car polish

1 - Plug in the pressure washer and connect it to the garden hose or water supply. Make sure you have enough hose to move around the car and that you can reach all areas of the vehicle before you turn it on. Make sure the house is not coiled or kinked as that can have an impact on the amount of washer going to the pressure washer.

2 - Set the pressure washer to light rinse or low setting and turn it on. Make sure you get the entire car wet and rinse off the top layer before switching it to an intense pressure setting. On the low setting do sensitive areas of the car such as lights, windows and other areas that could be damaged if subjected to intense water pressure.

3 - Apply the cleaning product using a sponge and lather it into areas where there is a lot of dirt built up. Make sure to apply it in heavy concentration around the tires and rims, as they generally have the toughest stains. Let the cleaning product soak in for a couple minutes to break down the dirt and grime that has been stuck to the car.

4 - Turn the pressure washer back on at a high or intense water pressure setting and blast away all the stubborn and tough stains on the car. Increase the intensity of the pressure by getting closer to tough stains and right up close if necessary to ensure that blemishes and imperfections are washed out. Shut off the pressure washer when you are done and let the car dry in the sun.

5 - Once the car is completely dry apply a layer of shine and polish to the car to give it that brand new look. One simple coat will also offer your car's body a layer of protection from the elements until the next time you wash it.

If you don't have a pressure washer (such as those offered by canuck industrial sales pumps) or the energy to invest in washing your car, then take it into one of the local car wash facilities in your area to have it professional cleaned.
